Two years, a hundred articles and countless learning experiences
Here’s what I’ve learned and why I’m only just getting started.
It was two years ago, almost to the day, that I embarked on a journey I could scarcely imagine would become such a large part of my life. With little more than a desire to share my knowledge and experiences, I took my first tentative steps into the world of writing on Medium. Today, I write this article with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude as I celebrate a remarkable milestone: my hundredth article on this platform.
Reaching this point was not an easy journey; it was filled with challenges, learning curves and commitment, but it was worth every bit. Let’s take a moment to step back, reflect and recognized the impact of perseverance and consistency.
The Journey of a Thousand Miles
There’s an old saying that “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. For me, my journey started with a single article. It was a tutorial on a technical subject I had been wrestling with. The process was daunting. Yet, the satisfaction I derived from sharing my knowledge was incomparable, fueling my desire to continue writing.
The initial few articles were not an instant hit, of course. They reached a modest audience and the feedback trickled in slowly. Nevertheless, the comments, no matter how few, from readers who found my content useful were inspiring. It was this silent cheer from the shadows of the internet that pushed me to continue.
Over time, I began to develop a style, a voice and an understanding of what resonated with my readers. This was no overnight transformation, but a gradual process of trial, error and adjustment.
The Commitment to Writing ✍🏽
Unlike many other Medium writers, I am not a full-time content creator. I juggle a regular job as technical lead, handling multiple projects, handle personal commitments and my passion for writing. Managing this balance is challenging but the key has been commitment. For me, writing is not just about sharing my knowledge; it’s a responsibility I’ve taken upon myself to add value to my readers’ lives. And it’s this sense of duty that has kept me committed, even on days when I could barely squeeze out an hour to write.
Sure, my articles might not have reached the staggering numbers some authors on Medium boast, but that does not diminish the value of the content I create. For every reader who has found my articles useful, every individual who learned something new or found a solution to a technical problem, the time and effort invested into each article are justified.
So, regardless of the statistics, I am committed to continue writing. This is not a popularity contest for me, but a platform to share, inspire, and grow. Even if my words resonate with just a handful of readers, it will have been worth it. Views and reads are motivating, of course, but the true reward is in knowing that my writing contributes, even in the smallest way, to someone else’s journey of learning and growth. I am here for that impact, that connection.
Embracing Variety

I’ve also ventured into writing about job productivity, a niche that allows me to combine my professional experience with personal insights.
